What is happening next week in kindergarten?
***SIX FLAGS READ TO SUCCEED
We are participating in the Six Flags Read To Succeed program. This is optional for our learners, but a great way to earn a FREE six flags ticket!! Each student needs to read (or be read to) for 6 hours. A log came home this week for you to fill out as you read. All logs are due by February 23rd. Tickets will be handed out in the late spring. This is always a favorite for our learners!!! It's such an easy way for them to work towards a goal and have a great reward at the end!! Have fun!!
***100th day of School Activity
On February 5th, we will be celebrating our 100th day of school. We will be completing all sorts of fun activities on that day. Please send a labeled zip lock bag with 100 items to help celebrate our 100th day at school. Please bring your collection on February 2nd. Some examples of things to bring would be 100 paperclips, 100 stickers, 100 pennies, etc..the possibilities are endless!

Language Arts
Our two new wall words will be "of" and "that".
When reading at home, don't forget to have your child retell the story and ask some questions about the book to make sure they have good comprehension of what they read.
Social Studies
As we begin our famous American unit, we are talking about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the effect he left on our world.
Math
Learners will make connections between income and ways to fulfill wants and needs. They will also begin considering simple skills required for jobs.
Home Activity - Ask your child what job he or she might like to do when he or she grows up. Discuss the tools and skills that are needed for that job.
Reflex Math Each learner came home with his/her log in information for Reflex Math. This is a program designed to increase fact fluency. We will be practicing how to use this app in class but it can also be accessed at home through the app or website. This is NOT mandatory for kindergartners to do at home as addition and subtraction are not officially introduced until the end of the school year.
