What a wonderful week!!!

We had a fantastic week getting to know our routine, making new friends, and learning all about Town Center Elementary!!  Thank you to all of our new families for sharing your precious children with us this year.  We can't wait to see how much they are going to grow this year!!!

Looking ahead to next week.....

Next week we will begin switching with our switch class.  Your child will see one teacher for math/scienceand one teacher for Language Arts/Social Studies.  Mrs. McCullough( LA/SS) and Mrs. Burks (math/science) are a family and will be switching classes.  Mrs. Sork (math/science) and Mrs. Vincenzo (LA/SS) are a family and will be switching classes.  You will learn more about how we switch at Curriculum Night. :-)

Upcoming Dates

August 31st:  Curriculum Night 5:30-6:30 in the library (parents only/no children please)

September 4th: No School (labor day)

Next week.....

Language Arts

We will be working on writing our names with an uppercase letter at the beginning and lowercase letters for the rest.  We will also be reviewing letter names and letter sounds.

Social Studies

In social studies we will be talking about families.  We will be having some great discussions about what different families look like, why families are important, and what role we play in our family.  

Math
We will be gin our math unit by exploring the numbers 1-5.  We will be able to describe a number in several different ways including saying, writing, diagrams, and pictures.

Science
In science we will explore what it means to be a scientist and an engineer.  We will discover how scientists use their 5 senses and work with science tools.
