Calendar Dates

Please note Muffins for Mom will be May 11th (7:45 - 8:45am). We are hoping to see all moms at this special event. Please let your teacher know if you will not be able to attend.
An invitation from your child will come home today in the green folder.

May 11 - Muffins for Mom 7:45 - 8:45am ALL MOMS ARE INVITED!!!
May 14, 15, 16 - STAAR testing. No visitors in the building
May 17th - TCE Graduating CHS Seniors Party
May 18th - Field Day
May 25th - CISD night at the ballpark

May 29th - TCE 5th Grade Graduation
May 30th - Last Day of School - Early Release

Don't forget to turn in the yellow sheets that lets TCE know if you will be returning next year.

Language Arts

We are getting ready for first grade!!! The writing rubric will definitely be harder in first grade so we have begun to make the transition to include some of the first grade TEKS. It feels great to get a head start!!
When your child is reading at home, don't forget to have them read aloud to practice fluency. Their reading should be fluid when reading aloud. Remember, the only way to become a better reader is to practice, practice, practice!!!

Social Studies

We will be talking about THE most important people - MOMS!!! We can't wait to celebrate you at Muffins for Mom on May 11th.

Math

Learners will continue to practice solving word problems using objects and drawings to find sums up to 10 and differences within 10.

Math Home Activity
Have your child count on to 120 starting from 15. Have your child count on to 120 starting from 86.

Science:

Due to the rainy weather last week, we were unable to visit the garden. This week we are hoping for sunny skies. Learners will be visiting the school garden this week to observe how plants and animals depend on each other to survive.
