Social Studies
We will continue our study of famous Americans by learning about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
Math
Learners will continue to sort and identify 2D shapes based on characteristics of the shapes. Learners will demonstrate how shapes can be joined to create other shapes.
Home Activity for math - Have your child join shapes to form a larger shape, and then tell you about the shape.
Reflex Math Each learner came home with his/her log in information for Reflex Math. This is a program designed to increase fact fluency. We will be practicing how to use this app in class but it can also be accessed at home through the app or website. This is NOT mandatory for kindergartners to do at home as addition and subtraction are not officially introduced until the end of the school year.

Miscellaneous
The chilly weather is upon us. Please make sure that you send your child with a winter coat, gloves, and a hat each day. We will go outside for recess if the wind chill temperature is above 32 degrees! We love fresh air!!
The flu bug has hit kindergarten! If your child comes down with any symptoms, please make sure that they are fever free for AT LEAST 24 hours before they return to school. Thanks so much!
Don't forget to be writing down all the books that you are reading on your Six Flag Reading Logs. They are due February 23rd!!
Make sure your child brings a water bottle to school each day. Using a personal water bottle is a great way to stay away from the water fountain germs. :-)
